Get Real is a card game for humans who want to skip the small talk. Each question is an invitation — not an interrogation. Take it wherever feels right.
There are no wrong answers. Only honest ones.
Tap the draw button, or swipe left on mobile. Anyone present can answer — or pass. There's no turn order unless your group wants one.
Swipe right to step back through the cards you've already played this round — all the way to the first. A check mark in the corner flags one you've already seen. Swipe left to move forward again, or to draw a new card.
Tap End Game to clear the table and shuffle back to the opening card. Questions you've already drawn stay marked, so your next game won't repeat them. Lock your phone or switch apps and your card stays put — only End Game, or fully closing the app, returns you to the start.
Any player can pass on any question — no explanation needed. Passing is playing. Long silences are a feature.
Open the Topics sheet to focus the deck on what matters to your group right now. Turn some off and the deck draws only from what's left.
The Inclusive deck is on by default — every question works for any group. If your room is a Men's, Women's, or Queer circle, open the Deck sheet and add the matching Expansion Pack on top. Mix and match — any combination is fine.
After a question appears, tap Sit with this to reflect one-on-one with an AI companion — a quiet voice that asks thoughtful follow-ups and never lectures.
Tap the thumbs in the corner of a card if a question landed — or didn't. Votes are anonymous, never interrupt play, and you can tap again to change your mind. They help us sharpen the deck over time.
Optional — a soft wrap-up signal for groups that want one. When time's up, swipe left or tap the draw button to continue. Opening Sit with this stops the timer.

Get Real stores a small amount of data locally on your device to remember your preferences between sessions. This includes your selected packs, your timer settings, your appearance choice, the questions you've already seen, your play history (the cards you've sat with, shown in History), your saved thumbs votes, and the cached question deck so the app works offline. Get Real has no way to access this data. To remove Get Real's local data, click the button below.
Get Real does not collect your name, email, precise location, device ID, or any other profile of your identity. Question serve counts and your anonymous thumbs up/down feedback are aggregated per question, never tied to your identity. If you use "Sit with this", our server keeps a content-free operational log of each AI chat call so we can monitor cost and catch abuse. The app also sends automatic error reports when something goes wrong in the code — these contain only technical details, never your messages or personal information. When you sit with a question, Get Real passes your messages and the current question to the Claude API (Anthropic) to generate a response. The content of your chat messages is not stored by Get Real — once Anthropic replies, the text is gone from our infrastructure. Anthropic may retain conversation data according to their own privacy policy. We do keep a short operational log of each call (timestamp, a 16-bit bucket hashed from your IP, token counts, conversation length) to manage cost and detect abuse — no message content, no identity.
